ProMark offers a number of integration options, ensuring a smooth interaction between ProMark and other business systems. Get an overview of the options and how to choose the method that best suits your needs and IT architecture.
Integrations are the way forward when companies want a more modern, flexible and efficient support of their business processes.
By extending your primary business systems with different specialised systems, you can design the exact solution that best meets your functional needs.
The integrations connect the various IT systems so data and processes can flow easily and seamlessly across systems, and thus create a more coherent infrastructure. This has great value for most companies.
Integrations strengthen the company
Replacing manual workflows with automated and well-integrated solutions has two overall benefits:
- Streamlining work processes: You can reduce time-consuming, administrative processes and the risk of manual errors and delays – thus saving time
- A data-driven decision basis: Through integration, valuable and current information becomes available when and where it is to be used. With real-time data, you can focus on what is important and increase your ability to react quickly to changes
Advanced options with ProMark
ProMark can be integrated with your other business systems in a number of different ways, from the very simple to the most modern and advanced.
But what exactly are the differences between the individual methods? And how do you choose the type of integration that best suits your needs? The short answer is that it depends on what you want to achieve. Below are some overall decisions you as a customer need to make in order to choose the optimal ProMark integration.
The simple solution
If you want a fairly simple solution with classic file integration, you must choose ProHost. ProHost is our well-known and well-proven integration method which works for the most common business systems.
ProHost ensures that data is transferred from one system to another e.g. via simple file exchange according to a specific format and by using specific drivers. Examples are transfer of employee payroll and absence data from ProMark to your payroll system in CSV file format or transfer of absence data to the Outlook calendar.
The method is simple to implement and configure according to your needs. It is the type of integration that requires the least technical assistance, and a task that most companies can handle internally.
ProHost is always an option, but can, however, lead to you ending up with an IT architecture where many systems are directly integrated with each other in comprehensive and complicated ‘spaghetti integrations’. Over time, this can make it more difficult to maintain, upgrade and remove/add new systems.
If you already use API integration between other systems or are about to get started with it, perhaps one of our API solutions suits you better.
The modern and future-proof solution
If you prefer a modern integration type, following the most common standards for tying systems together, you must choose ProHost API.
ProHost API ensures that the exchange of data takes place after a modern API standard. This means that the systems send requests and responses that contain all relevant information to place the data correctly in both systems – in real time. Without compromising data security and the GDPR.
ProHost API is a deeper and more technical implementation, opening your system landscape up for other systems. The method leverages our experience from existing ProHost integrations and field mappings and can be set up by us, internally with you or by a partner. This provides you with a flexible platform to adjust, expand and optimise your integration scenarios, while supporting your long-term cloud strategies.
The flexible solution with focus on user experiences
If you want to optimise – and tailor – the employees’ user experiences in one or only few systems, you must choose ProHost CAL (Client Access Licence).
This method allows you to access and expose ProMark’s functionality, business logic and data in your other systems, e.g. the company’s intranet or portal, via API integration – regardless of platform. Without the need for any ProMark modifications. This enables you to build coherent user experiences for your employees across systems, and thus optimise their tools to increase efficiency and motivation. In addition, you will gain new opportunities for real-time insights by merging data and work processes.
ProHost CAL also allows you to build role-based apps which only contain exactly the functions that the individual employee role needs in the daily work. This simplifies workflows and increases productivity for the individual employee – and thus for the company in general.
The complete, turnkey solution package
If you have chosen an SAP/Microsoft platform and want a complete plug-and-play solution package where everything is defined in advance, ProHost Certified is the right solution for you.
With ProHost Certified, you get a standardised, certified solution with built-in integration, developed specifically for SAP’s and Microsoft’s app centres. This means that ProMark acts as a natural extension of these business systems – without specific coding.
Online documentation and templates for data and setup simplify the implementation. The solution is continuously maintained and updated by us with the cadence required by the SAP/Microsoft platforms and uses the cloud solutions’ security requirements to ensure high security. Hence, this method requires very little of you as a company.
At the same time, ProHost Certified also allows you to exploit the other ProHost integrations if you need different integration methods for different systems.
